What You’ll Do
The Cloud Solutions Consultant is a senior, client-facing Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for influencing cloud strategy and technology decisions throughout the sales lifecycle. Serving as a trusted advisor, this role partners closely with Sales Executives once discovery is initiated, bringing deep cloud expertise to validate requirements, shape architectures, and articulate business-aligned cloud solutions.
The ideal candidate brings a strong passion for cloud technologies and recognized thought leadership, guiding buying conversations and shaping how organizations think about cloud adoption, modernization, scalability, cost optimization, and governance. This role plays a critical part in aligning technical cloud capabilities with measurable business outcomes.
Leverage deep cloud expertise to validate client requirements, design tailored cloud solutions, and address technical objections, directly contributing to increased sales win rates.
Act as a proactive cloud subject matter expert supporting sales executives during discovery, solution design, and validation, accelerating deal cycles and improving buyer confidence.
Architect and position cloud solutions across infrastructure, platforms, and services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), aligned to client goals around agility, performance, resilience, security, and cost efficiency.
Clearly articulate cloud value propositions, translating technical architectures into business outcomes such as scalability, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and ROI.
Collaborate with internal delivery, engineering, and product teams to refine cloud offerings, ensure accurate positioning, and provide strategic input into cloud service roadmaps.
Represent Thrive externally at industry events, webinars, and client-facing initiatives establishing credibility and thought leadership in cloud technologies and best practices.
Mentor and enable sales and technical teams on cloud positioning, messaging, and architectural best practices to strengthen internal expertise and drive deal success.
Skills You Bring
5–7 years of experience in cloud consulting, cloud architecture, cloud pre-sales, or technical advisory roles supporting complex solution sales.
Experience with MSP, cloud service providers, or consulting organizations strongly preferred.
Deep understanding of cloud platforms and architectures (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP), including networking, storage, identity, security, and high-availability design.
Expertise in cloud adoption frameworks, migration strategies, modernization, hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, and cloud governance.
Familiarity with cloud-native and third-party tools for monitoring, cost optimization (FinOps), security, automation, and DevOps practices.
Proven ability to accelerate deal cycles by providing actionable cloud guidance during discovery, solution design, and validation.
Strong ability to translate complex cloud concepts into clear business impact, value, and ROI for executive and technical audiences.
Exceptional relationship-building and collaboration skills with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
Strategic mindset with the ability to shape cloud roadmaps aligned to client business objectives.
Ability to mentor and guide sales and technical teams on cloud positioning, messaging, and architectural decision-making.
Adaptability and comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving cloud and technology environments.
