Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Sales Training & Development to lead the strategy, development, and execution of our sales development and educational programs. This role is critical to ensuring our sales teams have the skills, tools, and resources necessary to achieve and exceed their targets. As the VP of Sales Enablement & Development, you will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to optimize our sales process, drive revenue growth, and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
Responsibilities
Strategy and Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales training and enablement strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.
Lead, mentor, and manage the sales training and enablement team, ensuring they deliver impactful programs and initiatives.
Partner with the CRO and other executives to align enablement strategies with broader organizational priorities.
Sales Training Programs
Design and implement onboarding programs to accelerate new hires’ ramp-up time.
Develop ongoing training modules focused on product knowledge, sales techniques, and industry trends.
Utilize innovative learning methods (e.g., e-learning platforms, role-playing scenarios) to enhance engagement and retention.
Enablement Tools and Resources
Identify, implement, and manage sales enablement tools, including CRM platforms, content management systems, and analytics tools.
Ensure the sales team has access to high-quality, up-to-date collateral, playbooks, and training materials.
Partner with marketing to create targeted content and messaging for various stages of the sales cycle.
Performance Analysis and Optimization
Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training and enablement programs.
Analyze sales performance data to identify skill gaps and areas for improvement.
Implement feedback loops to continuously refine and enhance training initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment on product launches, go-to-market strategies, and messaging.
Collaborate with regional sales leaders to tailor programs to local markets and needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
5+ years of sales training experience within the MSP, MSSP or IT industry.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Deep understanding of sales processes, techniques, and tools.
Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and make strategic decisions.
